I suggest a well-selected “bug out” car. Here’s one candidate.

I kinda want to see it hacked into a ute.

could happen, I’m guessing its now front engined.

I want to know more about this beast.
I’m pretty sure I know the answer here.
Do we think it’s a custom frame/suspension setup or just a body slapped onto an off the shelf truck frame, modified to work?

My thought as well.

That’s a really short car. I would think any truck frame would need to be shortened at a minimum?

Maybe a Jeep chassis since they are also pretty short wheelbase?

This’ll work:

Poor choice if only because how badly the wedge shape works to deflect objects in the design. Making overly abundantly clear how exposed and vulnerable the suspension and steering components really are.

I found this when searching for more information.

It’s the same idea done in a more questionable way.

I think you’d be surprised, I bet a standard cab ranger chassis would probably fit.

The wheel base on that is 20" longer. Though the Samurai is actually on a 7" shorter wheelbase, so there should be options out there.

I found it in a forum on uses for old Eldorado/Toro Transverse engines. So, I think that’s an old-school BOC block mated to a TH425 transaxle running in a beefed-up X-er chassis.

So a little more research and I found that a CJ-5 is a pretty close match. So there are definitely possibilities.

I found the pic in a “transverse” forum-- no deets on the original build

This begs for an Oppo challenge. Google image search your car with the word “trar” and post the results.
